Program Overview
The Westside Regional Medical Center Residency is a 3-year high-volume PMSR-RRA program with an emphasis in surgery (joint replacement, external fixation, arthroscopy, trauma, ankle, hindfoot and forefoot reconstruction), didactics, and research. Residents are responsible for taking all emergency room call for pathology below the tibial tuberosity at both Westside Regional Medical Center and Plantation General Hospital. Residents perform 1000+ surgical cases, and 2,000+ surgical procedures at 6 different locations along with 1500+ office encounters. There are numerous weekly academics, journal club, sawbones workshops, and cadaver labs. Upon graduation, residents average 2 manuscript publications in nationally recognized journals, and are prepared to enter competitive fellowships, large multi-speciality/orthopedic groups, or private practice.
