Program Overview
This 36 month program provides a comprehensive surgical education through a positive learning environment where interaction with podiatric and orthopedic faculty is highly encouraged. The program is well-rounded with an emphasis on complex rearfoot reconstructive surgery. Residents perform a high number of surgical procedures which far exceeds CPME requirements. The resident has the opportunity to learn from over 30 podiatric surgeons and our tremendous relationship with orthopedics provides the ability to work with multiple orthopedic surgeons on a daily basis. A high emphasis is placed on didactic activities; the resident can expect to meet 3 times weekly in radiology rounds, journal clubs, cadaver lab or lecture. The program is fully integrated into the world-renowned University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, universally recognized for its commitment to excellence in medicine; this provides an opportunity to work and learn in a university setting.
