Program Overview
This is a Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Residency (PMSR) with added credential in Rearfoot/Ankle Reconstruction approved by CPME. Our Program is within the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Louisville. A vast array of clinical exposures is made available to the residents of the program to assure both diversity and volume of both medical and surgical experiences. The University of Louisville, a level 1 Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital, assures our residents have an abundance of opportunities with an emphasis on lower extremity foot and ankle trauma. Wound care opportunities are made available at our institution working closely with diabetic and traumatic wounds as part of the wound care team. Our CORE faculty includes twelve Podiatric and twenty allopathic physicians in multiple specialties. Externship is mandated to be considered for a residency position at our Program.
