Program Overview

The PMSR Program at The Christ Hospital was approved and credentialed in 2010. The residency experience is under the guidance of Dr. Douglas Schuckmann, DPM. Residents are trained in comprehensive foot and ankle care with special emphasis on development of advanced skills in reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot/ankle surgical, pre-operative and post-operative management. All podiatric residents participate in the residents’ clinic. The clinic provides the residents an opportunity to prevent, diagnose and manage diseases, disorders and injuries of patients by nonsurgical and surgical means. Residents gain experience in problem-focused histories, neurological and vascular exams and all objective evaluations of the lower extremity. They have full access to the hospital to order any and all labs and diagnostic tests that enhance their patient’s workup and their own learning ex
