Program Overview
Stony Brook University Hospital is a level one trauma center offering well rounded, diverse residency training experiences with a wealth of in and out-patient clinical care. Extensive training in diabetic limb salvage, multidisciplinary wound care, elective and non-elective surgery, biomechanical exposure, and clinical rotations all requiring active resident participation. There is exposure to forefoot and rearfoot surgery as well as trauma, RRA surgery, elective and non-elective surgery with foot and ankle MDs and DPMs as well as training on the Podopediatric patient. Interested students should be aware that externships are HIGHLY encouraged.
