Program Overview
The Department of Podiatry at Rush University Medical Center is committed to providing the highest level of care for foot and ankle problems. Our comprehensive program ties together primary care and surgery of the foot and ankle to create a well-balanced learning experience. The three-year podiatric surgical residency is based out of Rush Oak Park Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois. There are three positions per year. The program encompasses all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery, including forefoot surgery, rearfoot/ankle, reconstructive surgery, trauma surgery, fracture/infection management, and diabetic limb salvange. Residents spend time in private offices and perform daily hospital rounds, which provide extensive perioperative management of patients. This program prepares podiatric physicians to integrate into any type of future practice setting. Residents wo
