Program Overview
This high volume teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School emphasizes surgery, academia & research. No competing fellowships! Residents gain extensive training in advanced cases including total ankle replacement, ankle fractures, arthroscopy, reconstructive & deformity correction, external fixation & plastic surgery. Residents cover all ANKLE & foot ER trauma, follow pre- & post-operative cases & develop advanced clinical and billing skills w unique private clinic exposure. Private surgical skills lab w 24/7 cadaver access, professional ankle scope trainer, drills/saws, ex fix, screw sets & more. Weekly board reviews, weekly preop conference; extensive didactics. Residency has received numerous ACFAS manuscript awards (only residency in New England); extensive publications in peer reviewed journals. Residents complete a minimum of one research project with DPMs with MPH from Harvard School of Public Health (no previous research training needed). Clerkship or visit strongly recommended.
