Program Overview
The residency program is designated as a PMSR / RRA certified residency program by CPME. The rotations include a wide range of general medical and surgical experiences in which residents are expected to function like their counterparts. Residents receive same salary and benefit package as all other trainees in the system. Experience and training is gained from a wide range of general and surgical rotations, in addition to on-going podiatric surgical experience at McLaren Oakland Hospital and other facilities. The program provides a busy Foot and Ankle clinic and has greatly increased surgical volume and surgical subspecialty experiences. Residents are expected to develop clinical and surgical skills such that they will be ready to function independently well before graduation. Furthermore, residents are expected to participate in research leading to presentation/publication.
