Program Overview
The podiatry residency program at Katherine Shaw Bethea (KSB) Hospital encompasses all aspects of podiatry medicine & surgery from clinical management, pre-op, intra-op, & post-op care. Clinical and surgical exposure includes fore-foot and rear-foot reconstruction, pediatrics, revision, internal & external fixation, foot & ankle trauma, peripheral nerve surgery, and total ankle joint replacements. The program has a strong emphasis on didactics, leadership, teamwork, & empathic care for patients. Our motivated instructors create a culture that is conducive for educational advancement and a positive learning environment. Participation in research is required. The goal of this program is to make the resident a confident and competent physician and surgeon in foot and ankle care, as well as a leader in the field and in his/her community. Located in rural Illinois.
