Program Overview
We would best describe our program as being very well rounded. The program was reclassified as a PMSR with added RRA credential in 2012. The first year the residents rotate through a myriad of Podiatric and NonâPodiatric rotations. They are highly exposed to diabetic wound care, community based out patient foot care and inpatient hospital care including emergency medicine. Our second year they gain valuable forefoot surgical experience. The third year will concentrate on rearfoot and ankle surgery. The residents participate in plastic, vascular, and general surgery as well. Our graduating residents are well trained and confident in their knowledge and experience to go out and practice fine podiatric medicine and surgery. Residents will be rotating at Flushing Hospital Medical Center and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
