Program Overview
The Jackson South Medical Center Podiatry Foot & Ankle Surgical Residency Program focuses on all subspecialties of Podiatric Medicine with an emphasis on foot & ankle trauma. Jackson South Medical Center is a 262-bed acute-care Level II trauma center located in Miami-Dade County. We are part of the Jackson Health System and the southernmost trauma center in the continental United States, pulling from a very large area including the Florida Keys and a large swath of agricultural land south and west of the hospital.
From our large pool of competitive applicants from all nine schools of podiatric medicine nationwide, a single resident is selectively chosen to participate in a three-year PMSR/RRA training. The podiatry program encompasses a highly structured surgical and didactic curriculum while affording a very high case volume. Residents receive their surgical training in cutting edge technique through board certified Podiatric faculty physicians as well as additional rotations with orthopedic, trauma, and vascular surgeons.
