Program Overview
- The Westside Regional Medical Center Residency is a 3-year high-volume PMSR-RRA program with an emphasis in surgery (joint replacement, external fixation, arthroscopy, trauma, ankle, hindfoot and forefoot reconstruction), didactics, and research. Residents are responsible for taking all emergency room call for pathology below the tibial tuberosity. Residents perform 1000+ surgical cases, and 2,000+ surgical procedures at 6 different locations along with 1500+ office encounters. There are numerous weekly academics, journal club, sawbones workshops, and cadaver labs. Upon graduation, residents average 2 manuscript publications in nationally recognized journals, and are prepared to enter competitive fellowships, large multi-speciality/orthopedic groups, or private practice. The program accepts three residents yearly. A 4th year Fellowship is also sponsored by the hospital.
