Incoming Residents are expected to attend hospital wide orientation in the middle of June. Orientation schedules are emailed after residency match.

Program Overview
Geisinger Community Medical Center is a PMSR/RRA certified program involved in all facets of podiatric medicine and surgery. Residents rotate with all specialties and implement wound care practices and Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. Strong surgical skills are enforced with excellent guidance from staff. Attendings in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including Charcot reconstruction, rearfoot and forefoot procedures, ankle arthroscopy, Ilizarov frames, limb salvage, and trauma. Hospital based and out-patient clinics are included in the curriculum encompassing all aspects of podiatric medicine. Residents experience a strong focus on pediatric pathology and deformity correction during a rotation at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Research and education remain a priority as a resident.
