This program offers various other clinical experiences, such as a resident-run clinic, billing and coding curriculum, and exposure to an orthotics lab.
Our program emphasizes rearfoot reconstructive surgery, Charcot reconstructive surgery, Trauma, forefoot surgery, and limb salvage.

Applicant Requirements
Incoming Residents are expected to attend hospital wide orientation in the middle of June. Orientation schedules are emailed after residency match.

Program Overview
Geisinger Community Medical Center is a PMSR/RRA-certified program involved in all facets of podiatric medicine and surgery. Residents rotate with all specialties and implement wound care practices and Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. Strong surgical skills are enforced with excellent guidance from staff. Attendings in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including Charcot reconstruction, rearfoot and forefoot procedures, ankle arthroscopy, Ilizarov frames, limb salvage, and trauma. Hospital-based and outpatient clinics are included in the curriculum, encompassing all aspects of podiatric medicine. Research and education remain a priority as a resident.
