Program Overview
The DVA-Augusta is a well-rounded program with a strong clinical, surgical, and didactic program. In this hands-on program, our residents perform “skin to skin” procedures and have access to advanced wound care modalities. Research opportunities are available, if desired. The program is supported by specialties from both the Charlie Norwood VAMC and Augusta University School of Medicine. Our residents are also educated in billing & coding and have private practice rotations. There are also cadaver dissection experiences when cadavers are available.
Our approach to ensuring the most well-rounded experience is orderly and one of the many benefits of a “one resident per year” program. Our residents work as a team and do not have to compete for surgical or clinical experiences.
