Program Overview
Our well-rounded program is unique as the 1st year resident serves largely in conjunction with the general surgery service. Podiatric residents receive an equitable training experience as to allopathic and osteopathic residents. One-month rotations consist of Hand, Vascular/General Surgery, Anesthesia/Pathology, Burn including a burn night rotation, IM, ID, Pod, Behavioral Science, Medical Imaging, Neurosurgery, ED, etc. This is an excellent opportunity to work at a busy Level I Trauma Center as well as the internationally recognized Arizona Burn Center. Junior and Senior residents circulate through Podiatric and Orthopedic rotations as well as working with well-known community podiatrists. A developed research curriculum is set during the 2nd year of training to allow for completion of research or publications. An extensive didactic curriculum will fully prepare students for future residency training.
