Program Overview
Beth Israel Deaconess is a primary teaching hospital of Harvard Med School with a level 1 Trauma Center. Full scope of training including ankle trauma and ankle reconstructive procedures are offered through the VA Boston. Residents enjoy access to the clinical skills labs, and cutting edge lectures in all aspects of medicine, surgery and research. This is a high volume surg prog (meet numbers by PGY-2) that provides exposure to all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including trauma, reconstructive, elective, and diabetic salvage procedures. Residents are expected to manage in-house patients in addition to running a Resident Clinic. Chief residents participate in an international mission trip. This program is a very hands-on clinical experience and residents expected to perform as an MD trainee during outside rotations. Research is emphasized and residents supported to submit posters and manuscripts during training.
