Program Overview
Jamaica Hospital program is a 36 month residency program with credentialing in rearfoot and ankle surgery. Residents have weekly journal club, online lectures and board review, case presentation twice a week. The first year the residents rotate through a myriad of Podiatric and Non Podiatric rotations. They are highly exposed to diabetic wound care, community based out patient foot care and inpatient hospital care including emergency medicine, level 1 trauma center. Our second year they gain valuable forefoot surgical experience. The third year will concentrate on rearfoot and ankle surgery. The residents participate in orthopedic, plastic, vascular, and general surgery as well. Residents will be rotating at Flushing Hospital Medical Center and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
