Program Overview
This is a PMSR/RRA program that encompasses all aspects of Podiatry including forefoot/rearfoot/ankle surgery, general podiatric medicine, and wound clinic (in conjunction with the plastic surgery department). Time will also be spent with our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department in regards to amputation prevention as well as post amputation rehab. The Podiatry staff as well as Hospital Administration and all other rotation faculty are highly motivated in the training and education of all residents and medical students at the facility. Scheduled outside rotations (2 months out of each year) with local private practices will afford each resident practice management skills, pediatric experience, and other private practice pearls. 10 months of each year will be spent at the VA facility, which is located on an impressive 337 acres on the Gulf of Mexico with beach access just over 1 mile away!
