Do Programs Have to Participate in CRIP?
No. Participating in CRIP interviews is optional though most podiatric residency programs do attend and interview at CRIP–more than 80%.
COTH members may interview at CRIP as part of their benefits as a teaching hospital member of AACPM. The fee to participate in CRIP for non-COTH members is $1,000.00.
Do Programs Have to Interview In-Person?
No. It is the program’s option to interview in-person, either at CRIP or another location such as their own hospital. Programs may conduct all or part of their interviews virtually.
COTH does recommend that, if at all possible, programs be consistent and do ALL initial interviews either in-person or virtually.
COTH further recommends that all second or callback interviews be virtual.
When Can Programs Not Attending CRIP Interview Their Applicants?
If a program is not attending CRIP, it must schedule its residency interviews after CRIP concludes. Those interviews may be conducted on January 15 through February 17, 2025.
This requirement is to be in compliance with CPME 320 requirements for residency interviews.
